Michaela grew up in northern BC in Quesnel. After graduating high school she followed opportunity to Vancouver BC to pursue her Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Care and Education. Being most interested in the politics and upper working levels of child development and education, Michaela pursued a career as a Consultant at Supported Child Development in her now permanent home, Campbell River.
Michaela joined te fundraising committee at the Campbell River and District Association for Community Living November of 2016. Since then she has worked with the committee to organize some successful fundraising events and in turn has discovered a passion!
Michaela is mother of an amazing preschool aged boy who keeps her active and on her toes! He rides his bike and she runs while they explore the never ending supply of trails and forests we are lucky to have here in Campbell River! Michaela loves making homemade sushi with her family, hosting games nights and dinners, and generally meeting new people everywhere she goes!
Michaela is thankful to be employed by CRADACL, a non-profit organization that values the ongoing professional development of their employees. Within her department her colleagues are often taking courses together, attending seminars and thinking together about constructive and pro-active ways they can provide more beneficial services to families and children within the community.
Michaela is excited to be a part of the Young Professionals of Campbell River because she will be surrounded by other people who are passionate about growth, idea sharing, community involvement, networking and simply learning from one another.
