Matthew was born and raised just south of the Oyster River in Black Creek. He pursued a career in Information Technology before settling down in Campbell River to have a family and open the Beach Fire Brewing and Nosh House. He handles marketing, operations and anything else that needs to get done.
Matthew leverages his involvement of his business' special events to get out in the community, supporting the arts, collaborating with other businesses in town and fundraiser's and tourism functions. Matthew also started and participates in Community Facebook groups such as Campbell River Mountain Bike
Matthew enjoys meeting new people so he is always keen to participate in social events within YPCR, entrepenuerial events and welcoming people at his place of business. Matthew enjoys mountain biking, off roading and surfing along with music, arts, alternative energy and general mechanics.
Matthew develops his skills by attending events and workshops put on in the community such as the Social Media Social put on by Tremain Media and Entrepenuer Reading Circle by The Sociable Scientists.
Matthew connects with other businesses through the Downtown Business Improvement Association, Men's Club, and through social events put on for fundraising.
