Communication, Protection and Control Technologist
I grew up in the Lower Mainland. I have a Power and Process Engineering and Electrical and Computer Engineering (Industrial Power Option and some Telecommunication courses) education background. I moved around in BC for 4 years and am finally settling in Campbell River.
During the four seasons, I enjoy fishing at the local waters. I am able to learn from fishing to think critically about the surrounding, in order to effectively catch more fish, such as analyzing the water flow and water seams in a river/ocean for possibilities where fish can rest and feed. This is similar to the plant process of maintaining and limiting process down time caused by non-schedule maintenance. Searching for different light penetration in the water to find fish feeding areas is like searching for alternatives to improve processing quality and productivity of operations. This also requires researching the types of vegetation/food source in the river/ocean to investigate what the fish consumes for food. I can apply my research abilities to analyze operational equipment and propose strategies to improve machinery operational/protection aspects.
Ya fishing. I do anything outdoors and indoors... you just have to get to know me first in person then warm me up to get the details.
I take professional development and technical courses within BC Hydro and technical courses from other vendors BC Hydro partners with.
