Alvin was born in Powell River but moved to Campbell River with his family when he was five years old. Being raised in Campbell River, he has great appreciation for the community here. Alvin moved away after high school to pursue his post secondary education and attained a Bachelor's of Commerce from Royal Roads University. After four years of work experience in bustling downtown Vancouver, he found his way home and began his career with Prizm Financial.
Aside from being on the board of YPCR, Alvin also is the Treasurer for the Campbell River Youth Soccer Association. Alvin's career keeps him actively networking and maintaining relationships with companies both large and small here in Campbell River and across Canada. Alvin can be seen around the community being active by running or biking in the trails with his family.
Alvin plays Men's Over 30 soccer, co-ed 7 a-side soccer and drop-in whenever he can. Alvin enjoys a good ride to Gold River on his motorcycle, weekend getaways around Vancouver Island and tenting at local hidden gem campsites. Alvin spends his winter days snowboarding at Mt. Washington, he enjoys a good red curry soup, having backyard campfires, hosting Fooseball Tournaments and long soaks in the hot tub. Alvin has a long family history of wine-making and takes the craft of a good beer or Kombucha brew quite seriously.
Alvin believes that education is valuable for growth and always engages in professional development opportunities. Alvin has a nice collection of The Economist Magazine and will take on conversation about politics, sports, brewing beer, health, lawn maintenance, current events, and business.
